Oral Pathology
Oral Exam
Oral pathology is an all-inclusive term when referring to any abnormal growth or development of bone, teeth, and/or gum tissue. While some of these can pain or swelling, many are symptom free and are discovered during your routine dental exam. Your general dentist may refer you to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, who has specialized training in diagnosing and treating such pathology.
Early detection and treatment is key with any and all oral pathology. Dr. Haupt has extensive training and a unique interest in pathology and uses cone beam CT technology for early detection of cysts and abnormal bone growth.
